Mental Health & The Outdoors!

The world is experiencing a mental health crisis! In the UK 1 in 4 people are likely to experience a mental health issue of some kind each year. While many of us are open when it comes to discussing mental health, the general consensus is still lacking. Many organisations and the National Health Service are underfunded and the waiting lists for help are getting longer and longer. Now with the pandemic lingering, mental health problems are only increasing with further isolation and restrictions. So what can you do to help alleviate the pressures of everyday life on your mental health? And what does the outdoors have to do with it? Well, more and more research is being done into the benefits of the outdoors and mental health. Countries and areas around the world are starting to prescribe nature, hiking and exercise rather than offer drugs when it comes to mental health. Is a disconnect with nature having a negative effect on our mental health in general? Do we actually need doses of nature? And how can we get started.

Is this section we are not only going to explore the theories into the outdoors and mental health. We will write about health, fitness, the environment and other natural ways to improve your mental health, reconnect with nature and find a new appreciation for the world we live in. Let’s explore the natural world together!
